Think twice before taking antibiotics or giving antibiotics to our kids
"Health officials have warned for decades that overuse of antibiotics - miracle drugs that changed the course of human health in the 20th century - would eventually lead bacteria to evolve in a way that made the drugs useless."
Do think twice before giving antibiotics to ourselves or our loved one.
Antibiotics used to be miracle drugs in the past but more n more side effects has been reporting and even warned by health officials nowadays.
Don't forget everyone of us is born with the best doctor in the world, what we need to do is just nourishing it through Nutritional Immunology lifestyle.
Likewise, vitamins pills used to be 'handy' and 'trendy' in the past, until recently more n more warnings on the side effects of overdosing.
Again, you cant be wrong to go with the science of nutritional immunology - best way to obtain vitamins/nutrients is thru wholesome food! As NI never go against the law of nature!

Supplements vs. whole foods
Supplements aren't intended to be a food substitute because they can't replicate all of the nutrients and benefits of whole foods, such as fruits and vegetables. So depending on your situation and your eating habits, dietary supplements may not be worth the expense.Whole foods offer three main benefits over dietary supplements:
- Greater nutrition. Whole foods are complex, containing a variety of the micronutrients your body needs — not just one. An orange, for example, provides vitamin C plus some beta carotene, calcium and other nutrients. It's likely these compounds work together to produce their beneficial effect.
- Essential fiber. Whole foods, such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables and legumes, provide dietary fiber. Most high-fiber foods are also packed with other essential nutrients. Fiber, as part of a healthy diet, can help prevent certain diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease, and it can also help manage constipation.
- Protective substances. Whole foods contain other substances important for good health. Fruits and vegetables, for example, contain naturally occurring substances called phytochemicals, which may help protect you against cancer, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. Many are also good sources of antioxidants — substances that slow down oxidation, a natural process that leads to cell and tissue damage.

Middle class in Singapore 'feeling more insecure'
Middle class in Singapore 'feeling more insecure'
They fear rising costs, loss of jobs amid widening income gap
The sense of security typically associated with being middle-class has given way to anxiety among such Singaporeans, as technology and globalisation widen income gaps and take away jobs, academics said at a forum yesterday. "When we think about the middle class, we think of security, comfort and social mobility. But all these are sort of in decline," said National University of Singapore (NUS) sociologist Tan Ern Ser at the forum, which focused on the state of Singapore's middle class. Exacerbating the anxiety is the rise in living costs, which has led to many middle-income Singaporeans - broadly defined as the middle 60 per cent of income earners here - no longer being able to afford what they think they deserve.
While the Government has stepped up social support measures, these are mainly targeted at the lower-income groups and the middle class may feel squeezed with nowhere to turn to for help, said Dr Tan.

How to choose Healthy Cooking Oil
Confused
about which oils are heart-healthy and which aren’t?
Here are TWO
important points you should know to choose healthy cooking oils.
Cooking
oil is the primary source of omega-6 fatty acids in modern society. This is due
to the large amount of oil in the modern diet, and also because of the general
misconception that vegetable oils are healthy and can thus be consumed in any
amount. As a result, the ratio of omega-6:omega-3 ratio consumed can often be
as high as 30:1.
2. Smoke point
A
smoke point is the temperature at which cooking oil starts to smoke. Each type
of cooking oil has a smoke point. Once the temperature of the oil's smoke point
is reached, the oil starts to break down and smoke, producing toxic, or even
carcinogenic, substances.
So How do I select a suitable
oil based on cooking method?
The
cooking temperatures of common Asian cooking methods like stir-frying in high
heat or deep-frying can be as high as 190°C, so these cooking methods require
cooking oils with relatively higher smoke points.
Olive oil - It has a smoke point of around 160°C, and is hence not suitable
for cooking over high heat. Instead, it is more suitable for cold dishes.
Macadamia
oil and perilla seed oil - With smoke points of over 200°C,
they are safer for use in high heat and over strong flames.

And good news is E.Excel Blended Cooking oil has finally launched this month, so excited!!!! Finally has a solution on where to buy the healthy cooking oil.
It is formulated using 95.5% macadamia oil and 4.5% perilla seed oil, which has a smoke point of 210oC and has much higher Omega 3 than Omega 6.
Mild in flavor, it is ideal for stir-frying, deep-frying, grilling, roasting and baking. When used as a dip, E. Excel Blended Cooking Oil conveys a mild nutty taste.
