Both gals down with fever

While I am half way write on how I maintain health of my family members through nutritional immunology (received feedbacks from few parents, so i decided to publish it rather than pm), both gals were down with fever.

JY was down with fever on Wednesday night, she was about 38plus degree C, so i fed her millennium before she zz. Thanks god, she fully recovered on the next day morning. However, I decided to keep her at home for a day to monitor.

Then who knows JX started to have fever on Thursday morning. One after another, haiz.
I did the same, keep feeding JX Millennium and Oxyginberry and sponging throughout the day. Her fever was getting higher from 37plus to 38plus on Thursday night.

I continued feeding her wholesome food and sponging on Friday, in fact her fever rise to 39plus on Friday evening. But not too worry, her fever finally subsided around midnight on Friday.

All thanks to nutritional immunology, as we decided to nourish her immune system with correct nutrient rather than rely on western medication.

We feel so relief as dont have to worry on the side effects from western medication.

Afterall just read the news on the Nurofen nearly killed a 2 years old girl few days back, so scary....

Nurofen-nearly-killed-daughter-Girl-2

Girl, 2, given Nurofen by locum GP could lose her sight after suffering horrific allergic reaction that left her with sores and blisters all over her face and neck

A toddler survived thanks only to a ‘miracle’ after suffering a severe allergic reaction to Nurofen, her parents said yesterday.

Macey Marsh’s face broke out in scores of agonising sores and blisters after being given a child’s dose of the painkiller on the recommendation of her GP.

She spent ten days in intensive care with her eyes glued together by mucus as doctors warned her terrified parents, Matt and Sarah, that even if she did live, she might lose her sight.

To her parents' relief, Macey pulled through after nine days, but may still have permanent damage to her sight

Macey's father said: 'There were times when we were unsure if our little girl would pull through at all, let alone with her eyesight intact'

But to their overwhelming relief, she recovered and reopened her eyes after nine days.
Now they must wait to discover if she has been left with permanent damage to her sight.

The youngster was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, a sometimes fatal condition caused by a violent allergic reaction to a virus or a medication.

Mr Marsh, 37, a photographer of Chertsey, Surrey, said: ‘The thought of  losing her was just unbearable. We hit rock bottom.

‘Doctors explained her eyes may have started attaching to the inside of her eyelids and her corneas could be so severely damaged she may never see again. It was terrifying.
‘It’s an awful condition, you’re lucky to survive it.

‘She was still blind and her skin was blistering all over her body.’

Her parents Sarah and Matt (pictured before the incident) had taken her to the local GP surgery when she appeared unwell. There, a locum GP prescribed the Nurofen for Children

After nine days of fighting for her life, Macey opened her eyes. A spokesperson for Nurofen said the reaction the toddler had suffered was extremely rare

The family’s nightmare began six weeks ago, when the couple took their daughter to their GP because she had a rash and puffy eyes.

A locum told them she was ‘run down’ and advised taking Nurofen alternated with Calpol.

When her parents checked on her the morning after giving the medicine, her eyes were stuck shut with mucus.

They took her to A&E where scarlet fever was diagnosed and she was sent away with penicillin. The next morning, her face was covered in blisters that were starting to burst and she was in agony.

Her mother, a BA stewardess, called an ambulance and Macey was treated by infectious diseases experts at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, South London who diagnosed Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.

She was given morphine and moved to intensive care. Her parents said they were told it would be a miracle if she survived. Thankfully, she recovered after nine days. ‘Words cannot describe what that was like,’ Mrs Marsh told the Daily Mirror.
Mr Marsh said: ‘We’ve still got a very long road ahead of us and it could take another year for her face to heal properly. Luckily, she’s starting to act like her own bubbly self again.’

The condition, which affects one in 500,000 children and young adults, was named after two US paediatricians. SJS causes the cells in the top layer of the skin to die before shedding.

A spokesman for Nurofen said: ‘We are very sorry to hear about Macey Marsh’s condition and we wish her a swift and full recovery.

‘Stevens-Johnson Syndrome is an extremely rare but known reaction to a multitude of triggers such as infections, medications or illness.

‘The exact cause for the reaction is currently unknown and the reaction is unpredictable.’

She said that although ibuprofen, the active ingredient in Nurofen for Children, has been associated with rare cases of the syndrome, there is no confirmed causal link.

So parents, if given a choice, will you choose to build up your kids immunity through the science of Nutritional Immunology?

Is it good to eat a meat-based high-protein diet to drive weight loss?

Read this from MyPaper on Wednesday.

"No carbs may be no good, say health experts"

"...experts warn that such diet may not necessarily be a good thing, and that there are health risks involved in going to the extreme"

"High on meat? Experts give the lowdown"

"While health experts acknowledge that cutting down on carbs can help to shed pounds, they caution against forgoing carbs altogether, or consuming too much protein."

"High-protein diets are also usually high-fat and sacrifice carbohydrates and vitamins, which are important for a balanced diet."

"Prolonged and excessive negative energy intake is technically a state of 'malnutrition' and can cause our health to deteriorate over time."

In fact we had learn this through the Live With Dr.Chen - a health seminar by world renowned nutritional immunologist.

Why do people opt for a meat based high-protein diet to lose weight?

Generally people thought insulin is one of the contributing factors of obesity while carbohydrates stimulate insulin secretion. So people now try to eat less or avoid carbs at all.

No doubt research has shown that carbohydrates intake stimulates insulin secretion, but the research findings did not point out that animal protein in the diet can cause even more insulin to be secreted.

In other words, a meat based diet stimulates the secretion of insulin to a greater degree than carbohydrates do.

When adequate amount of carbohydrates are consumed, the human body naturally converts carbohydrates into energy to meet the body's needs. But when only meat is eaten, the body does not get enough carbohydrates so it converts fats into meat into energy.

Do you know that this metabolic process will produces ketones?

Ketones are acidic by-products that create an acidic environment in our body.

We will less likely to feel hungry when our body becomes acidic. This result in reduced food intake and consequently, weight loss.

Unfortunately, the acidic environment is conducive for the formation and reproduction of cancer cells, in other words it actually increasing one's cancer risk.

Moreover, to correct the pH imbalance, our body will leach calcium from bones, causing calcium loss and increasing the risk of osteoporosis.
 http://nutritionalimmunologylifestyle.blogspot.sg/2014/06/is-cows-milk-really-good-for-us.html

Well, do you think is it worth to shed few pounds but end up with osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases or even Cancer?

Afterall, the intention we want to lose weight is for a better health isn't it? So it is important don't get the nutrition misconception from various media.

So what is the best way to lose weight in healthy way?

--> Control one's diet and exercise.

Diet wise, reducing intake of high-calorie foods and increasing the intake of dietary fiber.

For me, it is easier to help my husband bring down his weight through diet, as hardly find time for exercise.

I am glad that my husband managed to lose about 7 kgs through a convenience and safe option called - I Shape.
http://nutritionalimmunologylifestyle.blogspot.sg/2014/07/how-does-nutritional-immunology_30.html

Why convenience? Basically we need at least 40grams of fiber per day, but do we have the time and the appetite to eat 8 or 9 cups of broccoli per day to make up the fiber amount we need?

So one I-Shape is easier and convenient to safeguard our body with adequate amount of fiber - both soluble and insoluble.

1-Shape is high in grain fiber, low in calories and has no cholesterol which is best for those with high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The ingredients include Soy, Psyllium Husk and American Ginseng.

And why Safe?

My company has been awarded Food Safety Excellent Award by AVA for 10 consecutive years. This year EE is awarded with Silver Award.

Weight management through diet is always easier compare to exercise, as long as you don't go for unhealthy way i.e. all sorts of supplement product or drug.

Journey towards being a speaker

On 2nd August 2014, I attended a public speaking course at RWS for 3 days.

It was an amazing experience!

It is something which I would never accomplish if I still choose to be an engineer, if I still choose to stay in my so called comfort zone.

Today, I am happy that I control over my time, and make my own plans in order to achieve my dreams. What matter most, to be a speaker so that I can carry out my mission - as a solution provider and share the science of Nutritional Immunology to the world.

Remember - choice is more important than work hard ya!

Together with my business partners :)

Health is our Greatest Wealth - the Dalai Lama says it best

I'm sure you will agree with me that health is our greatest wealth.

There is no point of getting rich if we sacrifice our health in the process.

Our body is the only thing that is with us since we are born to to the day we die, so it is essential that we take care of it!

However have you found the correct way to safeguard your health?

Over the times, I started to see more and more of my peers spending money — lots of money - fixing their health.

Looking for help, they invest in TCM, prescription drugs, supplements, complicated tests, scans etc.

What's more, people nowadays tend to eat meat and drink cow milk for protein, taking glucosamines, fish oil and all types of multi-vitamins for supplementing the diet.

However, has the number of people getting chronic diseases reduced?

The answer is No

In fact, according to the latest statistic, by year 2050, 1 in every 3 adults will develop Type 2 diabetes.

The main culprit that cause confusion and misconception towards nutrition are outdated nutrition practices & advertisements from the various media.

Today, in order to stay healthy, we must know that in order to have good health, we need to have a good immune system.  By nourishing our body with a balance and wholesome plant food diet we can have good health.

Be a wise consumer, choose the right foods for body nourishment.

Luckily, we have the science of Nutritional Immunology in our hand to safeguard our body.
