My journey as HFF biz owner

Have you ever ask yourself:

Health, Time & Money - which is least important to you?

Is HEALTH freedom the least important to you? 

or TIME freedom?

or MONEY freedom?

Or ALL THREE are equally important?

What are you willing to do in order to achieve all three freedom?

I was honoured to be invited to share to the audiences on my journey as HFF biz owner yesterday.

During my preparation for my sharing, I looked back on how I decided to switch my career path from a senior chemical enginner to HFF biz owner, I really feel blessed that able be who I am today and do what I am doing now.

My mentor has been telling me about the risks of one person working for 40 years and she has a solution for that in year 2008, but during that time I was still in my comfort zone, enjoying my working life as an engineer, I have no kids that time, so working overtime for me was not an issue at all, bla bla bla...

She told me I need to get prepared for future, for when I start to have kids and etc...

However, as everything was going so smooth so I dont see why I need to make a change or need to plan for 5 or 10 years later.

Well life goes on, and true enough I came to a point where I couldn't find a balance between my job and my family especially after arrival of my second daughter.

I know I have to make a choice between job or family, for me definitely I chose my family as I clearly know that our kids only grow up once.

On the other hand, I know that if i quit I will be losing all my income too. So at that point of time, then i only fully understand what my mentor has been telling me.

What a job can give you is ACTIVE INCOME, no matter how talented you are, or how loyal you are, regardless how many years you have been served for that company or even till you retire, the moment when you tender you resignation, the moment when you're being retrenched or the moment you retired, what will happen to your income?

Yes, it become zero income! This is what we called active income. 

At the same time, we need to be ready, to be prepared for the lifestyle that we desire 5 or 10years down the road, not wait till anything happens then only take action, it's going to be too late by then. In chinese we said: 居安思危。 

Then I fully understand the importance of building a passive income biz system which can gives you all threee freedom!

Now when I looked back, I feel blessed as by doing what I like, without sacrificing the quality time with my kids, no longer bear the active income risk and most importantly able to safeguard health of my beloved family members.

Korea Incentive Trip 2017

Year 2017 is indeed an exciting year for me :)

Right after spending quality time with families, friends and relatives during Chinese New Year at end January, I was busy in preparing for my Korea incentive trip in mid Feb.

This incentive trip was a special as all E Exceller from Asia region gathered at Korea together to celebrate company 30th Anniversary celebration.

Retrenchment risk VS Ultimate freedom lifestyle

Time flies! We are into the last quarter of year 2015!

I am really excited as so many events/activities are awaiting for me.

Pushcart in Oct & Dec, Genting Achiever Congress, health talk at cancer prevention society, Xi An incentive trip, Live with Dr.Chen and Award Presentation!

It’s way too different from my previous engineer lifestyle!

I was having lunch with my ex-collogue yesterday and leant about my last company is exercising don’t know the 3rd or 4th retrenchment since early of this year.

I can’t imagine if I still working as engineer in my last company. If I stay on, I probably will live in anxiety as worried when is my turn to get retrenched.

My fren, if you’re being retrenched without a backup plan, what will happened to you and your family?

What if you get retrenched at middle age, eg 40 years old where your children still in secondary and you need money the most to serve your housing loan, utilities bill, living expenses,  elderly medical expenses, and etc ?

Can you feel how depressed and frustrated you will be by then?

Of course, there will still be plenty of jobs available. But can you easily get back your job position, your salary and benefits that match your previous job package?

Who will be most affected?  

Yes, it’s our family again!

This is the facts of life, we must keep asking ourselves,

HOW CAN I MINIMISE THE RISKS I'M FACING?
Do you think 1 person working is too risky for you?

Even you have job today, things still look fine and that there's nothing to worry about. Don't fall for that temporary comfort zone happy state. Because, day in day out, you're still facing the 3 risks - Health risk, accident risk and job risk.

Do you plan your contingency  plan?

WHAT IF, one of the risk happens to you, what would you do?

Have you prepare yourself and equip yourself for what might happen so that you still enjoy your quality lifestyle?

It's important for you to be prepared, otherwise you will become a victim.  A small leak can sink a ship or a huge wave can destroy it equally well.
