How to recover from Bell's Palsy in 3 weeks!!!

Most of us might not have heard of a condition called Bell's Palsy and might even mistaken it as stroke due to its similar symptoms. The recovery progress is rather long and frustrating as described by a friend of mine. Below is her experience and journey when she was struck with this condition.

Sharing on Bell's Palsy :

I was struck with Bell’s Palsy in March this year, it was an extremely unpleasant experience which I would never ever want to experience it ever again.

During that period, I google a lot as I hope to find out more about Bell’s Palsy but not many I could find especially for the cases in Singapore.

That’s why I decided and agreed to let Jinny share about my Bell’s palsy journey as maybe it could help someone out there.

Here you go:

While I was meeting my friend at NEX on Thursday afternoon, I noticed that my left eye was a bit tighten kind of feeling, I thought it’s time to change my monthly contact lens.

But before that, I was down with flu – where I have a feeling this time the flu was quite serious type.

On that night itself, I felt a sharp pain in my right eye when I was washing my face and hair. I didn’t know what happened and went to bed as usual without thinking too much.

On Friday morning, I started to feel something was amiss. I can’t gargle my mouth as I can’t close my mouth properly and my right eye was in pain again when I washed my face. I then looked into mirror and to my horror I noticed right side of my face seems not under controlled.

I told my husband about this and was wondering if it could be symptoms of mild stroke? But after google, it seems unlikely. Anyway to play safe, I went to visit a GP.

After diagnosed, it was confirmed that I had Bell’s Palsy – where facial nerve was injured due to infection.

Anyway the doctor still refer me to neurologist and asked me to take steroid. I asked doctor why I need to go for neurologist and what can neurologist do for me. His answer was just to double confirm it’s Bell’s palsy and not other infection, and most likely steroid will be given also to treat the inflammation.

I thanked the doctor for his advice but I didn’t followed his instruction to take steroid and go for neurologist. Just google on the side effect on the steroid and you will know why I refuse to take.

With my knowledge in NI, I know I need to nourish my immune system so that it will carry out the repair function which i needed now so I chose NI food instead.

As I mentioned earlier, I did lots of research on Bell’s palsy, basically Bell’s Palsy is nerve injury due to infection. That’s why traditionally doctor will prescribed steroid to stop the inflammation first. http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/20050316/why-steroids-are-bad-for-you

By understanding the root causes and advice from Jinny, I chose:

1.       Millennium instead of steroid, as cactus has very high anti-inflammatory ability. The phytochemical known as beta-sitosterol in the cactus helps to prevent wound from being inflamed.

2.       Orchestra and Oxyginberry as Ashitaba and Ginseng berry can helps greatly in nerve repairing to promote the nerve growth factor.

As doctor said it will takes days or even months to recover, I google it and most of people in fact takes months or even longer to fully recover. Symptoms usually start to improve after about 2-3 weeks, and have usually gone within two months. In some cases, it can take up to twelve months to recover fully.

In some cases, symptoms do not completely go. Some weakness may remain for good. However, it is often a slight weakness of part of the face and hardly noticeable. It is uncommon to have no improvement at all; however, some people are left with some degree of permanent facial weakness.

Throughout the period, other than my face drooped, I had inconvenience from eating, drinking, gargling, my eye was very dry and pain and kept tearing and I have speech difficulties too. I have to tape my eyes at night. For those who has experienced Bell’s Palsy you will know what I am talking about.

I am really thankful to the NI super food, as I fully recovered within 3 weeks with NI food. It was a very scary and humbling experience. I can’t even performed my normal life routine eg. , I need to patch my eye as my eye can't close completely, I can't drink water properly, I can't chew or eat properly – I felt humiliating . And I don’t know when I will recover. And of course I never ever expected that to be happened on me as we used to take our health for granted.
In the nutshell, don't take health for granted and start practicing healthy lifestyle with NI.

Blessed that we have the best doctor in the world - our immune system.
Blessed to have Dr.Chen, without her, we will never know precisely on how to eat right and what are the best nutrition that are nourish our best doctor in the world.

Journey of a mother finding solution for her son who has eczema and asthma.

I was truly touched by a selfless sharing by a mother who has greatly benefitted from the science of nutritional immunology. Below are the details of her sharing.

“Imagine as a mother I can’t even kiss my own son, when he was a new born baby. I can’t even touch his face. Everytime I touch his face, he started get irritated and scratch his face very hard and that hurts me a lot.”

I am here today because I would like to share my experience with you on why I chose Nutritional Immunology.

I grew up in Canada. I’ve been working in finance field for 4 years in Canada before I moved to New York, and worked as finance director for 13 years there.

It’s a busy lifestyle, I worked around the clock. Over the years, I realised my health deteriorating very fast, as I worked harder, and of course achieve more money, I want to make sure that my family is financially secure, have enough money where I can provide healthy food for my family to stay healthy.

I am a mother of two, daughter and son age 7 and 3.5 this year. After I gave birth my younger son, I realised my health is deteriorating even faster.  As a mother and working mother full time, I felt that my time has been stretch between work and my family. I have to make sure they go to school properly, I have to make sure that they have enough nutrients and when they get sick I need to attend to them as well.

Just to share my personal story on eczema and asthma. Before I moved to New York, I have been pretty healthy in my teenage years. Since I worked in finance field, I worked very hard. I started to have allergic reaction to food, many things, even household items. It irritates me, as my skin is itchy and rashes.

I started questioning myself what is happening to me, I didn’t have allergic since I was born. I started to have it when I am busy, when I am weak. My son also inherited the same allergic. He scratch himself very hard. Imagine a mother I cant even kiss my own son, when my baby was born. I can't touch his face. Everytime I touch his face, he started get irritated and scratch his face, and that hurts me a lot.

So I go everywhere to try to find any solution to solve this issue. I went to Chinese medicine, try holistic approach even herbal medicines. Until I came across this allergic specialist in New York through a referral.

I went to him hoping to find a cure for my son and myself. When I go to him, he told me that there’s no cure for eczema and asthma. My heart just sank, I was so sad. How come I tried everything, go to anywhere I could. I changed my lifestyle, changed all my household cleaners to as natural as possible and still cannot cure my son.

So I asked him what am I supposed to do.

He told me that eczema or asthma is just due to our body immune system reaction to harmful environment. Because of our modern lifestyle, we live in an environment full of pollutants, radiation where we used microwave, the convenience we have in our lifestyle we have now, we can’t avoid the air we breathe, many things, even the water we drink, when we eat out, we can’t always ensure the quality of food.

So our body is reacting to that. And I believe truly, as when we were born, we all born with a healthy immune system. That explain why I didn’t have allergic when I was young, it’s out of sudden when I am busy.

The doctor also asked me do you know that why I become a very famous doctor? Do u know why everybody has referred me?

He told me that every patient he has, he don’t want to see them again. He just want them to refer to him so that he can help as many as possible.

That surprise me, so I said: if u said u don’t have any cure for eczema/allergic, then why you become an allergy specialist.

He said: Do u know why, the best doctor in the world is actually our immune system. It’s not me.

Then I said how to boost our immune system.

He said it’s through our food, ourselves.

He asked me: Do u realise when u sick, that’s when your eczema flares up. Do you realise when you are weak, your body has allergic. When we are stress, when we sick that’s when our immune system is down and we have all the problems. And things like steroid is just temporary solution and not supposed to take forever.

So I said I am not supposed to rely on medication. He said yes. Once we bring our immune system back to optimum level, it will do whatever it supposed to do.

The only way is to change our lifestyle, as we are what we eat. I believe in that truly.

So when I met my neighbour, she mentioned to me her children seldom sick as she gives proper nutrition and there’s food supposed to boost our immune system through nutritional immunology.
I got truly interested in what is that to boost our immune system as I’ve been searching all over the world for the solution and I can’t find the answer.

Through NI, I believe all the wholesome super food is the solution for my son and myself.

Now, instead of steroid cream I gives him rose cream which I know it’s very safe for him, and no side effect as steroid cream will makes his skin thin.

And I have been coughing for 5 years, non-stop, I cough everyday and my husband get irritated as well. Taking medication, Chinese medication nothing cures me, and eventually doctor gave me stronger and stronger steroid. But still can’t cure my cough.

Now I know I just need to keep my healthy lifestyle, boost my own immune system, enough sleep, exercise everyday. I really thank you my neighbour for introducing me nutritional immunology, and I cant help to share this science to the people around me.
Thanks Ayrin for the selfless sharing on her eczema and asthma experience. Indeed, our best doctor in the world is none other than our immune system.
We just need to practice NI lifestyle, NI food as a convenience to nourish our immune system to stay healthy.
