Natural isn't Always Safe

Nowadays TCM is getting popular as more and more people are aware and want to avoid the side effects from western medication.

However is TCM really safer and has no side effects?

Why now and then we will see the news on the side effects and even contamination cases on TCM?

Many people has misconception on so long it's plant, it is safe.

There are however, many misconceptions about plants. although plants are natural, not all of them are safe or healthy enough to be consumed as a plant food. For example, tobacco leaves, coca leaf (the source of cocaine), hemp (the source of marijuana) and opium poppy (the source of heroin and morphine) are unsafe natural ingredients.

Plants are, therefore, available in two varieties:
i. plant foods (food grade) or food herbs that do not give harmful side effects and
ii. medicinal plants or herbs, which can bring harm when formulated or used incorrectly.

What TCM using is medicinal plants or herbs.

The most effective & safest way to achieve proper nutrition is to eat wholesome and natural plants foods. Food grade plant foods are most suitable because they can equip us with nutrients in a natural way unlike chemically extracted vitamins or tonics.
