Come to think of it, this should be my 5th year into vegetarian diet journey :). My vegetarian diet journey won't be so hassle free and easy and healthy if without the safe and convenience helping from NI food π.

Let me start with why I adopt vegetarian diet 5 years ago, I think I haven't share this part with my blog audiences before.
Firstly, I have to thank to my family members, friends and clients as you all have been very nice to me where you willing accommodate to my limited diet choice π
Many have asked me why I opt to vegetarian diet, many have guess it is for health reason. No, it is not my primary reason.
Well in fact it is one of the nutrition misconception too, because many will think so long it is vegetarian = healthy, mistaken that the food items selling at vegetarian shop = healthy. It is definitely not the case ya, you still need to be a wise consumer, read label, understand the ingredients!
I have a client, I met her in one of the vegetarian restaurant where we shared a table. She has practiced vegetarian diet for more than 20 years, however she is not healthy, in fact she has many health issues. Why? Because she has mistaken so long she go meatless, she will be healthy. She didn't realised that the fried stuff, the mock meat, even the cooking oil using in the vegetarian stalls are not healthy too. Today, she thanked me for helping her to be a wise consumer and know how to choose food wisely, know how to nourish her immune system with correct food.π
For me, why I opt for full vegetarian diet is very simple - compassion for animals, to me we are all equals ya.
At the same time, other than can be healthier, stay away from chronic disease eg cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, i can do my part to reduce global warming, go green, help to end world hunger, to protect our earth in short!
As for health, what our immune system needed is the nutrients from wholesome plant food, & definitely not the animals products or synthetic supplements including multi-vits, collagen, peptide, flax seed oil or formula protein powder on the shelf ya.
This is why I really grateful that I learnt about the science of Nutritional Immunology (click here), so that I know how to safeguard and take care of not only my health, but health of my family members, my clients and even strangers whom seen my blog and approached me.
When come to vegetarian diet, I believe many will start to worry on the nutrition deficiency part as we may not able to consume enough variety & quantity of fruits and vegetables everyday, plus many are holding a full time job where we hardly cook at home, the most cook during weekend.
I do have the same concern too, especially I am quite picky when come to vege. My clients always teased me - if without the compliment from NI food, yes, i think my health definitely is suffering now π.
Share with you few pointers here on What to take note when you are on full vegetarian diet.
(Actually i think it applied all, not just to vegetarian diet group)
1. Source of Protein & Calcium
Protein is vital for growth and development and is needed at all stages of life.
Protein is necessary for building, maintaining, and repairing body tissues, such as muscles and organs.
I go for Soy protein, because it is absorbed just as well as animal protein, yet without the cholesterol or the fat!
The American Diabetes Association recommends soy protein for diabetics as it doesn't burden the kidneys!
Source of Protein - for me - I start my day with Soypro.
Soypro is my ideal breakfast where it only consists of wholesome soya bean with jilin ginseng only, no preservatives! Giving me 12.4grams/sachet of quality protein & calcium right after I wake up!

2. Source of Iron, B12, zinc, Phytochemicals, Antioxidants & Polysaccharides & many others
It's important to include an adequate amount of vegetables in your diet, regardless you are vegetarian or not. A variety of vegetables gives you different nutrients i.e. antioxidants, phytochemicals, polysaccharides. Each performs different functions to enhance and protect your health. Each vegetable has its own unique qualities, and each contains different phytochemicals, antioxidants and polysaccharides.
Over here, we need to fulfil both variety and quality & quantity of the vegetables we consumed, to ensure no nutrients deficiency.

3. In fact, every NI food is vegetarian, plant based - where we using freeze dried method to preserve the nutrients & without preservatives. At the same time, all NI food has undergone up to 2000 safety testings to ensure the safety.

I do not have to spend hours in preparing the fresh vegetables, instead I can well spend my time on other more productivity activities eg building up my passive income business, spend with kids family and etc....
