Hope you do read this news too... as winter melon products is very commonly used in many Singapore and Malaysia household.
If you google further, you will find out that sulphur dioxide is in fact very commonly used as a preservatives in many food items including ginseng, TCM herbs, dried food with wording "preservatives", without written it out.
For us, thankfully we have learnt the above from Dr Chen and Dr EE before.
Once again, it tells us the important of food safety & be a wise consumer by reading label !
